Happy new year, everyone! Want to know how I spent my New Year’s Eve? Excitingly enough, I was both a wedding guest and a photographer. For the first time in my 10 years as a wedding photographer, I shot a friend’s big day! As you can imagine, it was a pretty memorable night. What made it all so special was that this was Sue and Colin’s ceremony, and I’ve known them since they were just a few months into their relationship.

What made this wedding unique? I would say the moment that these two busted out playing rocks,  papers, and scissors to decide who was going to go first with their vows. The best part, these two went a solid six rounds before Jamie finally won.

On the morning of the wedding, we decided to go out to the metropolitan building wedding venue an hour early to scout and get an early start on some of those beautiful details.

On a warm sunny July day at Storybrook Farms and Events, Lisa and Daniel said I do in front of 65 of their closest family and friends. All of their guests had traveled from various countries including, Canada, New England and New Zealand, to this cute little outdoor venue located in Redmond, WA, just 35 miles outside of Seattle.

The intimate ceremony at Novelty Hill Januik in Woodinville, Wa between Sally and Nick was perfectly timed, as the evening sun was starting to set.  Similar to the beauty of the sun shining as it faded over the horizon, one of the many beautiful things about Sally is her contagious smile. It shined through from the moment we saw her.
