Right now I’m surrounded by 20 beautiful women, hearing their struggles, their business goals, and digging into so much more then just what you see on the surface. . In the past I’ve attended many workshops, photographer networking events, and big expos but after the awkward small talk and listening to people share pitch after pitch, I realized this wasn’t for me. . I wanted deeper conversations, I wanted real friendship, I wanted so much more - and instead, I walked away feeling more alone, comparing myself to their success and questioning what’s wrong with me! . So here I am, listening to these incredibly successful women who are just as broken, vulnerable, and who are feeling just as maxed out as me, and it’s a beautiful thing to hug each other and truly be there to hold hands together as we take risks and make changes in our businesses. . I wasn’t sure if I should post this, because it means once I hit publish it’s out there for all to see; this inner struggle I’ve dealt and hid from people for years. . With the recent news of Kate Spade’s suicide death. It’s become so real to me that I’m contributing to a world that’s filtered and planned on social media. . No one would know this but when the door is shut and I’m home alone I struggle with depression. Simple things feel overwhelming, I feel like a failure everyday. I force myself to sleep in hopes that one day I’ll wake up and all my issues will be gone. I dream big but fear that my inability to be consistent with anything will be my ultimate failure to those dreams. . Now ready for some real vulnerability. The type that I can’t believe I’m even sharing on here. . A month ago, after weeks of lows and sadness I couldn’t shake off, the task of even driving felt so overwhelming. As I hit the road, I found myself questioning how much easier things would be without me in them. What if I just swerved a little to the left and then just then I screamed so loud and pulled over. I realized this was too real! I needed help! . So I reached out, found a therapist and realizing I’m not alone in this. Most people feel this way but not many ask for help! I was one of those people! I felt that others had it worse so who am I to feel unworthy. I mean it’s not that bad, right?! . I don’t judge anyone for feeling like this, I wish I could take it all away, but what I do know is that you’re not alone. As you scroll down more pretty photos and question why isn’t that me! I want you to remember that behind those photos we are all vulnerable, emotional, have moments of struggle, and are real humans who don’t live perfect lives. . You are worthy! Running my own business sometimes means keeping odd hours, working weekends, and turning down social events because I have work commitments planned out a year in advance. We hit the open road for this one! 😁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tanya and I drove in heavy rain for this wedding, but fortunately, the sky cleared up and this beautiful couple was blessed with some lovely weather for their wedding day! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They tied the knot inside the chapel at Sleeping Lady Resort. My favorite part was watching the bride's sweet dad hold up his jacket so he didn't accidentally catch a glimpse of her dress before the official reveal. Today I throw my hands up because it's hit me that I'm officially in my 30s! No, I'm not celebrating my 30th, but today I celebrate 31. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ People don't typically throw big parties for their 31st birthdays, and honestly, most of us probably feel tempted to spend the night chilling at home with a glass of wine and worrying about getting another year older. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But guess what. I say to HECK with that! I'm going BIG! A lot bigger then I did on my 30th, actually.
