The intimate ceremony at Novelty Hill Januik in Woodinville, Wa between Sally and Nick was perfectly timed, as the evening sun was starting to set. Similar to the beauty of the sun shining as it faded over the horizon, one of the many beautiful things about Sally is her contagious smile. It shined through from the moment we saw her.

While the guest were still wine tasting inside the venue, Sally and Nick choose to have their “first-look” privately away from the guests. Nick’s reaction at the first sight of his stunning bride was so touching. I later showed both Sally and Nick a few of the photos taken as a sneak peek of their wedding, and Sally commented that the picture of Nick’s reaction to seeing her for the first time in her dress was her favorite. Many times it’s in these moments that my clients find their favorite pictures; the real raw moments that are not posed or planned for. These truly are a reflection of the day.

After the ceremony, I personally enjoyed Nick’s toast and thought it was the highlight of the night. There was not a dry eye to be found after hearing his touching story about his mother who passed away from cancer. He talked about how much she would have loved Sally for her son, and how he wished she could be there. Nick was very intentional about remembering his mom during his toast as well as the ceremony, as he had placed a white rose on her reserved chair in which she would have sat, which was another very touching moment.
