I love day trips with friends on my time off! The best is when they’re spontaneous, on a Sunday after shooting a wedding the day before, and when they involve… wine.

It was a gorgeous morning. My friends and I decided to take a break from Seattle city life and head out Woodinville, Washington for wine tasting! If you’re looking for some great wine-tasting in the city for yourself or wedding guests, SODO has some great urban wineries you should try.

Woodinville is Washington State’s Napa Valley and it is gorgeous. Wine tasting cost averages at $10 but fees are normally waived if you buy a bottle. I highly suggest a few in your party buys bottles!

Hungry for brunch? There’s the Purple Cafe and Wine Bar. Their fried egg sandwich is TO DIE FOR. I love the romantic atmosphere there with the candles and twinkle lights! Such a great date spot. 

We went to Chateau Ste. Michelle, Washington’s founding winery with award-winning wines. They’re celebrating 50 years in wine making and it’s a big deal! Be sure to stop by when you’re in town. Their wine is so yummy.

Then we went to romantic DeLille Cellars, where they featured several national award-winning wines in their tastings. From there, we traipsed to Novelty Hills and Elevation Cellars and had a wonderful time!

Of course, you can get the girl out of the biz, but you can’t get the biz out of the girl. I noticed so many lovely wedding venues and photo ops throughout Woodinville. If you’re a bride-to-be in Washington, you must see it!
